On the Mary/Bert theme, here is an old graphic I found on my computer supposed to be romantic. Ah the folly of teenage fandom!
I remember being a kid and telling my cousins that after the movie was over she eventually marries him. It was the first ‘fanfiction’ I ever wrote was this super cheesy pitiful excuse for a sequel that was only like 10 pages long.
And even in college I had theories/sequels/ficlets brewing in my mind that I would than debate with my friends. I recall a night walking back from the Bway show with my friend in heavy Poppins theory/origins/philosophical discussions walking down the sidewalks of Queens and people must have been thinking from what I was saying:
